மிஸ்ஸியம்மா - 56 வருஷங்களுக்கு முன்பு 1955-ஆம் ஆண்டில் எல் வி பிரசாத் டைரக்‌ஷனில் வெளிவந்த தமிழ்ப் படம் (ஒரிஜினலில் தெலுங்கு மிஸ்ஸம்மா). ஜெமினி கணேசன், சாவித்திரி, ஜமுனா, எஸ் வி ரங்காராவ், தங்கவேலு, சாரங்கபாணி நடித்தது.

ராஜேஸ்வர ராவ் இசை. மிக இனிமையான, இன்றும் காதுகளில் தேன் வந்து பாயும் “பிருந்தாவனமும் நந்தகுமாரனும்” “வாராயோ வெண்ணிலாவே” போன்ற தெவிட்டாத அமுத ஊற்றுக்கள். இன்னும் பல பாடல்கள்.

நேற்று (13-12-2011) மதியம் KTV-யில் மீண்டும் முழுதுமாக பார்த்தேன்(தோம்) - பகல் தூக்கத்தையும் துறந்து!

பாடல் வந்து 56 வருஷங்கள் ஆயினும், அதிதி கூட “பிருந்தாவனத்தை” பாடுகிறாள்; நடனம் ஆடுகிறாள். இதுதான் இசை.

Aditi, Sowmya Are Growing Up.

நிறைய நாட்களாக ஸௌம்யா, அதிதி குறித்து எழுதவேயில்லை. இரண்டு பேத்திகளும் மிக வேகமாக “பெரியவர்களாகி” விட்டார்கள்.


ஆங்கிலத்தில் நன்றாகவே மழலையில் பேசுகிறார்கள். அழகான கையெழுத்தில் மிக நன்றாக எழுதுகிறார்கள். முழு முழு வாக்கியமாக (sentence) எழுதுகிறார்கள். ARITHMETIC-லும் முன்னேறி விட்டார்கள்.


சமீபத்தில் மடியில் தவழ்ந்த குழந்தைகளா இவர்கள் என வியப்பாக இருக்கிறது!

Gita 11th Chapter Slokas 1 to 11

During last Aug - Oct 2010, Aditi started chanting the 11 Slokas [Srimadh Bhagavat Gita,Chapter 10, Slokas 1-11].

Now, last month (July 2011) she tells slokas from Chapter 11, Slokas 1 to 11[Vishvaroopadharsana Yogam].

"एकादशोध्याय:" "विश्वरूपद्र्र्शनयॉग:"

என முகவுரையுடன் துவங்கி,

मद अनु-ग्र्हाय परमम् गुह्यम अधि-आत् सम्-शित्म्

என்பது வரை சொல்லுகிறாள்.

Sowmya, Sriram at their new school.

The new school and the new academic year for Sriram (Pre-KG) and Sowmya (UKG) began on Monday, the 20th June 2011. The school is located within the SIPCOT, Siruseri, on the OMR, 4 km inside. SIPCOT is about 5 1/2 km from Arun's house, so they travel nearly 10 + 10 km daily.

The school starts at 0815; for Sriram it is upto 1000 AM; for Sowmya it goes upto 2-45 in the afternoon. As i said earlier, for Aditi,the school is from 0830 to 2-30 PM. Poor children.

Aditi's 5th birthday - 17-06-2011

Aditi's 5th birthday was celebrated on 17 June 2011, at our sontha veedu Thiruvanmiyur. This is the first function that we celebrated in the new house since entering here twenty days ago. Arvind and Krithika organised it with hard work and meticulous planning.  Their efforts made it a grand show. Their colleagues attended it. Aditi wore her new dress, in yellow.

The house was spruced up and the first batch of guests arrived by 7-30PM. More guests later, Aditi cut the cake at 8-00PM. The cake was from Cake Walk, 2nd Avenue, Besantnagar. A-K had ordered the food from a caterer-mami - Sambar sadam, chappati, dal, raitha, urulaikizhangu roast, appalam, thayir sadam, urugai was the menu. Fresh fruit juice, Rasagolla and Ice cream were brought from Besantnagar. Including us, there were 26 persons.

A fish-bowl with two Gold fish was the star present for Aditi.

By 9-45PM the guests had left; thus, we had a nice, satisfying, fabulous birth day party today. Arun made a very brief visit before proceeding to Central station.

ஸௌம்யா, ஸ்ரீராம் பெங்களூரில்.

அருணின் குழந்தைகள் ஸௌம்யாவும் ஸ்ரீராமும் ஜூன் மாதம் 3 ஆம் தேதி வெள்ளிக்கிழமை காலை 11-30 ரயிலில் மங்களூர் புறப்பட்டு சென்றனர். மீனா-சங்கர் அவர்களை அழைத்துச் சென்றனர்.

பாலசுப்ரமணியனும் மாமியும் மங்களூருக்கு வந்து குழந்தைகளை பெங்களூர் கூட்டிச் சென்றனர். ஸௌம்யா தன் அப்பா-அம்மாவை விட்டு தனியாக இருப்பது இது இரண்டாவது முறை; ஸ்ரீராமிற்கு இது புது அனுபவம். இருவரும் ஒரு வாரம் சமர்த்தாக இருந்து விட்டார்கள். காயத்ரி 10ஆம் தேதி வெள்ளிக்கிழமை பெங்களூர் புறப்பட்டாள்.

எல்லாரும் ஜூன் 18 கிளம்பி சென்னை வருவதாக உள்ளனர்.

Aditi - Sowmya -Sriram in new academic Year 2011

அதிதியும், ஸௌம்யாவும் இந்த புதிய கல்வி ஆண்டில் (2011 ஜூன் - 2012 ஏப்ரல்) UKG சேர்ந்துள்ளனர். அதிதியின் வகுப்பு PP2 என அழைக்கப்படுகிறது.

அதிதி தன்னுடைய ஹரிஸ்ரீ வித்யாலயம் (ராஜா அண்ணாமலைபுரத்தில் இருக்கிறது) ஸ்கூலில் படிப்பை தொடர்கிறாள். ஜூன் 8-ஆம் தேதி (புதன்) ஸ்கூல் திறந்தது. காலை 8-30 மணி துவங்கி மதியம் 2-30 வரை வகுப்புகள் இருக்கும். 10-30 க்கு சாப்பிட சின்ன சிற்றுண்டியும், மீண்டும் 12-30க்கு சாப்பிட உணவும் குழந்தை எடுத்துச் செல்கிறாள். தானே சாப்பிடுகிறாள்.

பகல் 3-15க்கு சோர்ந்து, களைத்து குழந்தை வீடு திரும்புகிறாள். பாவமாக இருக்கிறது.

ஸௌம்யாவும், ஸ்ரீராமும் OMR-ல் சிறுசேரியில் புதிதாக இந்த ஆண்டு திறக்கப்பட்ட PSBB (பத்மா சேஷாத்திரி பால பவன்) ஸ்கூலில் சேர்ந்துள்ளனர். ஜூன் 20-ஆம் தேதி திறக்கிறது. ஸௌம்யாவிற்கு ஸ்கூல் காலை 8-15க்கு துவங்கி, மதியம் 3-00 வரை இருக்கும்.

Q - A session with my grand-daughter Aditi

நேற்றிரவு (19-05-2011) அதிதி என்னிடம் வந்து, “தாத்தா, ஒன்னோட சின்ன வயசு ஃபோட்டோ இருக்கா?” எனக் கேட்டாள். அந்த காலத்தில் காமிராவே கிடையாது என பதில் சொன்னேன்.

“ஏன் தாத்தா, ஃபோனிலேயே காமிரா இருக்குமே !?” - இது அவளது கேள்வி # 2. அந்த காலத்தில் பேசுவதற்கே ஃபோன் கிடையாது, என சிரித்தபடியே நான் சொன்னேன்.

“பேசமுடியாட்டா என்ன, மெஸேஜ் குடுக்கலாமே தாத்தா !?” இது கே # 3. ஏதோ சொல்லி மெஸேஜ் குடுக்க முடியாது என சமாளித்தேன்.

”ஒண்ணுமே இல்லாட்டா என்ன, கம்ப்யூட்டரில் ஈ-மெயில் அனுப்பலாமே?”  இது கேள்வி # 4.

நானும், விஜயாவும் சிரித்து விட்டோம்.

20 வருஷங்களுக்கு முன்பு இருந்த நிலமையை, குழந்தை அதிதி போன்றவர்களுக்கு எப்படி விளக்குவது?

முக்கிய பின் குறிப்பு:  அதிதி சென்ற 10 தினங்களாக நீச்சல் கற்றுக் கொள்கிறாள்; இதுநாள் வரை, ட்யூப் கட்டிக் கொண்டு நீச்சல் பழகிய அவள் நேற்று ட்யூப் இல்லாமலேயே நிறைய நீச்சல் அடித்தாள் !!

Sowmya's 5th Birthday

Sowmya celebrated her 5th birthday (b:17-05-2006) yesterday at her house. It was a simple function. Her close classmates and a few relatives were present to greet and wish the child.

After the usual cake cutting (cake was from Cake Walk, on 2nd Avenue, Besant nagar), a piece of cake, pizza, and ice cream was served. Later, chappati, channa masala, aloo-gobi curry was served for dinner.

Apart from Arun's family, Vijaya, Krithika, Aditi, I (Arvind has gone on tour), Sudha and family, Meena, Sankar, Saaket, Krishnamurthy, Sriya, Sarada attended the function.

Aditi attending Summer Camp

Now that the schools are closed for the vacation, Aditi has been put in a "Summer Camp" for the past 15 days. This activity is at Yellow bus on the 2nd Avenue, Besantnagar, near Eden restaurent. She goes at 9-30 AM and returns by 12-30.

Some sort of "passing away time" - the latest fad among mothers.

Sriram surgery

My eldest son ARUN's son Sriram (now 3 years) had a minor surgery done on Saturday the 23rd April 2011. It was done at Swaram hospital, on the 1st East Street, Kamaraj Nagar, Tiruvanmiyur.

Sriram had a small growth of skin on his penis and doctor advised circumcision. The child was admitted in the hospital by 1 PM on 23rd, got the surgery done from 2 to 3 PM. General (full) anasthesia was given, and the child woke up at 6 PM from the anasthesia effects. He was given water first and then milk and juice later.

As there was no complication, he was discharged by 8-30 PM. Arun-Gayathri were in the hospital throughout, and Vijaya and I from 4-15PM to 8-30PM.

All is well,God is great.

Sriram's 3rd Birthday

Sriram (Arun) celebrated his 3rd birthday on 7th April 2011. The function was in his Tiruvanmiyur house and a few close relatives and friends (of Sriram) were invited.

Sriram wore his new dress and cut the cake at 5-40PM, cheered by all. Then all of us had gulab jamun, pizza, French fries, to eat. The children had popcorn in addition. Followed by juice.

The other guests left by 6-30 and we stayed for dinner. The function was simple and elegant.

Sowmya - Aditi now in UKG

One year has gone and both my grand-daughters Sowmya (now 4 year 10 months) and Aditi (4 Y 9 months) have completed their LKG and will join UKG in June 2011. How time flies ... Sowmya is in Learning Tree Montessori school, Adyar; but is likely to join Padma Seshadri Bal Bhavan at OMR, near their new flat.

Sriram also completed his one-year of pre-KG in Learning Tree, and is now joining PSBB with Sowmya.

Aditi is in Hari Shree Vidyalayam of Chettinad Group of schools, Raja Annamalaipuram. Her class (LKG / UKG) is called PP1 and PP2 as per Montessori terminology. She is going to PP2 from PP1.

Both the schools celebrated their Annual days last fortnight. All the three sang and danced in the functions. As proud grandparents, Vijaya and I, went to see both the celebrations.
